About Us

Our disc golf journey started back sometime in 2018 when we made a visit to one of our local courses after not playing disc golf since our high school days.  We caught the disc golf bug very quickly and started playing on a regular basis, trying to improve our disc golf game in any way possible.  It was a slow, but a fulfilling process.

The end of 2019 came around quickly as the world seemed to be going into a panic from the pandemic.  Disc golf courses all around the area started to shut down one by one.  Luckily a friend of ours always had a dream of creating a disc golf course on his own property.  With lots of time on our hands due to the pandemic, and no where to play - our backyard disc golf course idea quickly took shape and became a reality.

By the end of 2020 we had a full disc golf course made up of 18+ holes on approximately 5 acres of land.  I could sense the growth of the sport happening when our local courses opened back up.  There were tons of new faces and a lot more traffic on the course than there ever was in the past.  We even ran into some old friends that we hadn't seen in years!  People were looking for something to get them outside and disc golf was the answer!

 

With the obvious growth of the sport we started looking into the idea of carrying some discs and opening up an online shop mostly to help local players get their hands on some plastic in our community in Northern Illinois.  We took that leap and started Airmail Discs in 2021 with nothing more than a handful of discs from Discraft!  Fast forward to 2024 and we are still going strong!...the pandemic boom might have slowed down, but we are still here.
